PRINCETON — Melvin Duane “Skip” Dalton, 47, of the Athens Road in Princeton, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born August 16, 1966, at Wyandotte, Michigan, he was the son of Sandra Kay Sparks Korber of Princeton and the late Henry Melvin Dalton III.

Skip graduated from Princeton High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bluefield State College.

For many years, Skip was involved with Emergency services, having worked for OH-9 Ambulance Service as a paramedic, a former fire fighter, security guard and worked for Princeton Community Hospital and Bluefield Regional Hospital and last worked at Outback Steak House in Princeton.

He attended Willowbrook Baptist Church near Princeton.

Survivors in addition to his mother, Sandra, are two sons, Jeffrey Brice Dalton, and Kyle Alexander Dalton and wife Patience Marie all of Princeton. Two siblings, Brandon Dalton and Windy Dalton.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Willowbrook Baptist Church on Willowbrook Road near Princeton with Pastor Emory Merchant officiating.

The family has honored Skip's request, his body has been cremated.
