Wesley Miller Jr., 80, of War passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in Welch Community Hospital, Welch.
Born November 25, 1932 in War, he was the son of the late Wesley Miller Sr. and Ocie Kiser Jaber. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Willie Jaber. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served as the mayor of War from 1971-1980, and was a member of the War Church of God, War.
He is survived by his wife, Mava Miller of the home; two stepsons, DeWayne King of Tazewell, Va. and Chris King of the home; a stepdaughter, Theda Boyd of Concord, N.C.; one brother, Bill Jaber and wife Kathy of Cleveland, Tenn.; two nieces, Laura Guyton and Lindsey Miller both of Cleveland, Tenn.; a nephew, Jared Jaber of Cleveland, Tenn.; and a great-nephew, Cole Guyton.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, July 3 at 6 p.m. in the War Church of God with the Rev. John Dash officiating. Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
It was his request to be cremated following the service, and his family will honor this request.
