RAVEN, Va. —
Mr. Junior Eugene (Mop) Dye, age 78, of Raven, Va., passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in a Richlands, Va. hospital following an extended illness. Born in Tazewell Co., Va., he was the son of the late Roby Glen Dye and Margie Alice Keen Dye. He was the operator of the Raven Flea Market for many years and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jean Compton Dye; three brothers Willard Dye, James Dye and Danny Lee Dye; two sisters Ivory Gene Horn and Flossy Hurt.
Mr. Dye is survived by four sons Randy Dye and wife Tammy of Doran, Va., Rick Dye and wife Joella of Doran, Va., Tim Bo Dye and wife Darlene of Bristol, Tenn., and Gary Dye of the home; one brother Frank S. Dye Sr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters Judy Compton of Cleveland, Ohio and Velline Dye of Raven, Va.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Junior Eugene (Mop) Dye will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Billy Harrison officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends will service as pallbearers. Casey-Short V.F.W. Post 9640 will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va. from 6-9 p.m. Sunday.
