BLUEFIELD, Va —
Shirley Lillian Byrd, 72, of 138 N. College Ave., Bluefield, Va., passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.
She was born in West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Booker Carroll and Maude Akers Carroll.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Frank” Byrd; daughter, Veronda Southern; brother, Marvin Carroll; and a sister, Lucille Byrd.
She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Lorraine Hall and husband Ricky of Blluefield, Va.; grandchildren, Austin and Jacob Hall, Mike Tibbs and their families, Jimmy Southern and their families; nephew, Charlie Carroll and family; nieces, Minnnie and Betty and family; special friends, Total Home Care and Hospice nurses, Cathy and Jess, and counselor, Penny for their special care, comfort and support.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oakvale Cemetery in Oakvale, W.Va. with Pastor Larry Brooks officiating.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 from 12 noon-1 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va.
