PHOENIX, Ariz. —
Alex Foster, 57, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Northfork, W.Va., passed away June 12, 2013 in Phoenix of a sudden illness. Born September 24, 1955 in Welch, he was the son of Patricia A. Foster of Northfork, West Virginia.
Alex graduated from Northfork High School and attended West Virginia Technical College where he studied engineering. Alex was a former employee of the Keystone Mines.
Alex was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Sarah J. Foster; his grandmother, Georgia A. Foster and his grandfather, William H. Brown.
He is survived by his loving family: His mother, Patricia A. Foster of Northfork, West Virginia; his brothers, David D. (Barbara) Foster, Beckley, West Virginia, Robert L. Foster, Lake Ariel, Pa., William H. (Amelia) Foster, Christiansburg, Va., and Ronald L. Foster, Columbus, Ohio; sisters: Latonia M. (Georgie) Foster, Northfork, W.Va., Trina L. Foster, Columbus, Ohio, and Toyna A (Eric) Foster-Anderson, Columbus, Ohio; his grandmother, Cora E. Brown of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, and a best friend, Rodney Winfree of St. Albans, West Virginia.
Services will be held today (Saturday), June 29th, 2013 at one o’clock in the afternoon at First Baptist Church Northfork, Northfork, West Virginia. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to service. Officiating are the Rev. Eugene L. Watson, the Rev. Walter E. Clay, the Rev. Curtis Spencer, and the Rev. Harold Calloway, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluewell, West Virginia.
