VALDOSTA, Ga. —
Frances Madge “Doomey” Ball, 81, of Valdosta, Ga., formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio and Princeton, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Valdosta, Ga.
Born January 1, 1932, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Roy Buchannan Hypes and Ethel Barr Hypes.
Doomey was a woman of great Christian faith who had many outstanding qualities, among which were love of family, hard work, and prayer. She especially enjoyed working outside in the yard and spending time with her great-grandchildren helping them with their homework. She was a long-time member of the Assemblies of God. Attending church and being involved in ministry was always important to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Kirk Ball, along with siblings: Mary L. Santee, Raymond J. “Bud” Hypes, Gloria M. Fink, Joseph E. Hypes, Roy E. “R.B.” Hypes, Jerry Hypes and Linda D. Smith.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Reverend Dan Kirk Ball and wife Barbara of Rockledge, Fla., Patsy D. Byington of Valdosta, Ga. with whom she made her home, Kathryn J. Steak and husband Rick of Gonzales, La.; grandchildren, Jennifer R. Solano of Rockledge, Fla., Kirk E. Ball of Melbourne, Fla., Aaron Sparks, Adrianne Sparks both of Valdosta, Ga., Shawn Chabot of Clarion, Pa., Ryan Phelps and Sara Phelps both of Gonzales, La.; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Faye L. Owens and husband Earl of Milford, Mich.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Dr. Ray Hurt officiating.
A time of sharing and gathering will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton.
Those wishing to attend the graveside services are requested to meet at the funeral home on Thursday by 9:30 a.m.
