Karen Flinchum Phillips
BALTIMORE, Md. — Karen Flinchum Phillips, age 59, of Baltimore, Md.,. formerly of McDowell County went to be with the Lord Monday morning, April 1, 2013, at the Summit Park Nursing and Rehab Center, in Catonsville, Md., after a short illness.
Born May 15, 1953 in Bluefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of Jim Flinchum of Bluefield, W.Va. and the late Hazel Libertini. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness Faith, she was a homemaker, and was a resident of Maryland the greater part of her life. Other than her mother, she was preceded in death by-her step father Lou Libertini and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include: Her father Jim Flinchum of Bluefield, W.Va.; one daughter Debbie Jones and husband Dave, of Roanoke, Va.; two grandsons Blake Jones and Tyler Jones of Roanoke, Va.; three aunts Carol Sue Potter and husband Jake of Worth, W.Va., Mary Adams of Catonsville, Md., Natalie Adams of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers Dickie Flinchum and John Flinchum of Bluefield, W.Va. and other extended family.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. with Pastor Joey Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. Friends may call Saturday at the Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
