PRINCETON — William J. “Bill” Johnson, 86, of the Princeton Health Care Center died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 19, 1927 in Duhring, WV he was the son of the late George Andrew Johnston and Martha O'Donnell Johnston.

Bill was retired from the National Park Service in Silver Springs, MD and was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran serving in World War II. He had been a resident of Princeton since 2005 moving here from Silver Springs, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Eugene Johnston and Allen Johnston; and three sisters, Mary Riley, Molly Poole, and Bernice Dove.

Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Johnson and wife Patricia, Rev. Eddie Johnson and wife Lisa, and Kenneth Johnson; one daughter, Sandra Wendel and husband Joe; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Rev. George H. Johnston and wife Emma, David Johnston, Kenneth Johnston and wife Brenda, and Floyd Elbern Johnson and wife Carol; and three sisters, Myrtle Pannell, Mildred Beasley, and Gracie Wimmer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Sandlick Cemetery with the Mercer County Veterans Council conducting military graveside rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
