Jack Tiller

PRINCETON — Jack Tiller, 86, of the Courthouse Road in Princeton, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born March 21, 1926, in Dickinson County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Edward L. Tiller and Rebecca E Owens Tiller.

Jack grew up in Ashland, and was a graduate of Northfork High School, where he played basketball. He received his electrical certificate from a technical school in Chicago, Illinois.

Jack served with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. For many years Jack was the Superintendent for Supreme Homes Incorporated in Princeton. He also served as a building contractor having built many homes in the Princeton area. He was the owner and operator of Airway Motel on the Courthouse Road in Princeton for the past 44 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Mae Folden Tiller, and a sister, Velva Cop.

He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Michael L. “Mike” Tiller and Rodney L. Rod” Tiller both of Princeton. A very special friend, Irene Simpkins of Princeton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton with Pastor Ed Pettus officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Tiller family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
