WAKE FOREST, N.C. —
Eileen Dunman Rose, 89, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2013 at Hillside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Wake Forest, N.C. due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Mrs. Rose was born on Jan. 4, 1924, to Preston Banner Dunman and Margaret Henderson Dunman in Glen Alum.
Eileen married William Alfred Rose in 1949, who pre-deceased her. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. After raising her children, Mrs. Rose returned to work outside the home at Flat Top National Bank in Bluefield. She was a former member of Wake Forest Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Bluefield.
Eileen is survived by her son, William Preston Rose and his wife Carlene; grandchildren, Jeremy Banner Rose and Kelsey Nicole Rose, all of Ripley; and her daughter, Kerry Leigh Rose of Wake Forest, N.C. Mrs. Rose is also survived by her sisters, Sue Goodwin of Roanoke, Va. and Jo Ann Decker and her husband Lee, as well as her niece, Linda Decker and nephew, Larry Decker, all of Salt Lake City, UT.
To honor Eileen's memory, the family requests that donations be made to the activities fund at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Wake Forest, 968 S. Wait Avenue, Wake Forest, NC 27587 or to The National Parkinson Foundation, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
Private services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, Princeton, with burial following at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield.
