Charlotte Virginia Ford

DORAN, Va. — Charlotte Virginia Ford, age 84, of Doran, Va., passed away Jan. 2, 2013 at Mountain View Nursing Home at Aroda, Va. following an extended illness. Born March 4, 1928 in Raven, Va. she was the daughter of the late Edgar Cruey and Lillie Clines Cruey Keen.

Charlotte was a beloved mother, caring, giving and loved the Lord. She passed down her love of quilting and her love of animals to her girls. She loved to sing and play her guitar in church and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace (Wally) Ford; three brothers, Melvin Cruey, Jimmy Cruey and Michael Bucklen; one sister, Maxine Noel; and two beloved grandchildren, Richard Bruce Morris Jr. and Jacqueline Lurch.

She is survived by six daughters, Patricia Davis of Harold, Ky., Sandra Vandyke of North Carolina, Shirley Aylor and husband Malon Jr. of Madison, Va., Joyce Bartol and husband Michael of Inwood, Doris Dye of Ruckersville, Va. and Barbara Morris and husband Richard of Stanardsville, Va.; two stepdaughters, Connie Shepard and husband Bruce of Madison, Va. and Janie Beal and husband Cass of Sanibel, Fla.; three brothers, Howard Cruey and wife Margaret of Doran, Va., Tommy Cruey and wife Virginia Ann of Criggersville, Va. and Edgar Cruey and wife Joyce of Harold, Ky.; two sisters, Geraldine Cusatis of Knoxville, Tenn., and Geneva Lane of Knoxville, Tenn.; son-in-law, Gary Wayne Davis of Doran, Va.; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Rev. Dannie D. Short officiating. Entombment will follow in the Clinch Valley Memorial Mausoleum at Richlands, Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends.  

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today (Friday) at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Va.
