Nancy Cooper Smith

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Nancy Cooper Smith, 83, Johnson City, Tenn., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Perryville, Md., and had been a resident of Johnson City for most of her life.

She was the daughter of the late Harold R. and Miriam Keesey Cooper.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her brother, Harold R. Cooper Jr.

She is survived by her two children, Rodney R. Abrahams and wife Melissa of North Tazewell, Va., and Kim Greenwell and husband Brian of Johnson City, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Amie O’Quinn of North Tazwell, Va., Rals Abrahams and Will Abrahams, both of Tampa, Fla., Jennifer Greenwell of Johnson City, Tenn., and Sara Jacobson and husband Kyle of Dallas, TX; and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Kaitlyn O’Quinn of North Tazwell, Va.

The funeral service will be conducted today (Thursday), Jan. 3, 2013, at 4 p.m. from the West Chapel of the Appalachian Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the West Parlor of the funeral home.

The graveside committal service will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in Hopewell Cemetery, Perryville.
