Grover Lee Kirby, age 73, of Route 5 Box 419-B (Henry Hollow Road), Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 25, 1939 in Montcalm, he was a son of Edith Taylor Kirby of Route 4, Bluefield and the late Olen Giles. He had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Kirby; two sisters, Aldine Kirby and Wanda Dunford; and two brothers, Raymond and Gene Kirby.
Survivors include: Mother: Edith Taylor Kirby of Route 4, Bluefield; son: David Kirby of Bluefield; one grandchild and five great-grandchildren; one brother: Jason Kirby; two sisters: Carolyn Kirby of Princeton, Sherry Lynn Kirby of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Paul Delida officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
