Bobby Roger Bailey, 78, of 433 Pocosin Fork Road in Rock, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at The Maples in Bluefield. Born July 14, 1934 in Dott, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Alton Bailey and Clara Ethel Agee Bailey.
Bobby was a graduate of Matoaka High School, a retired surveyor, and of the Christian faith. He loved to hunt, fish, sing and play the guitar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacqueline Bailey Nelson; one great-grandson, David Isaac Johnston; and one brother, Melvin “Sonny” Bailey.
Survivors include one daughter, Veronica Robinson and husband Scott of Charlotte, N.C.; one son, Roger Lee Bailey of Texas; two grandsons, Jake Johnston and wife Amber of Pageland, S.C. and David Robinson of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Wanda Stevenson and husband Joe of Bluefield, Va. and Karen Hartwell and husband Roger of Lashmeet, W.Va.; three brothers, Benny Bailey of West Palm Beach, Fla., Kermit Bailey of Lashmeet, W.Va. and Doug Bailey and wife Debbie of Pipestem, W.Va.; former wife and special friend, Barbara Bailey of Charlotte, N.C.; sister-in-law, Jean Bailey of Lashmeet, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Bobby's wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton.
