Shirley Williams, 78, of Reese Harmon Ridge Road, Rock, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born March 16, 1935 at Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Stables and Annie Wiley Stables.
Mrs. Williams was of the Church of God faith. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers in her spare time. She loved spending time with her family and loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jess Williams in 2013; two sons, Ronnie Johnson and Donnie Johnson; one granddaughter, Sandra Johnson; four brothers, Russell Stables, Tommy Stables, James Stables and Garland Stables; and two sisters, Dolly Smith and Nellie Sigmon.
Survivors include nine children, Danny Ray Johnson and his wife Debbie of Rock, Roy Michael Johnson of Pulaski, VA, Margaret “Sissy” Crotty and her husband Mike of Princeton, Gary Johnson and his wife Wanda of Rock, Terry Lee Johnson of West Point, VA, David Johnson of Galax, VA, Tammy Hodges and her husband Frank of Buckhannon, Pammy Williams of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Kenneth Johnson and his wife Kimberly of Princeton; three brothers, Eugene Stables, Jr. and his wife Gertrude and Billy Stables and his wife Hilda all of Matoaka and Roger Stables and his wife Paula of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Peggy Davis of Princeton and Judy Barlow of Lashmeet; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Johnson of Princeton; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and special care givers and friends, Mary McPherson and Tonya Graham both of Rock.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Larry Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 16, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
