BANDY, Va. —
Walter Clavery Beavers, age 72, of Bandy, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September, 12, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia.
He was born in Bandy, Virginia and was the son of the late Newbern and Meade Rebecca Brewster Beavers. Mr. Beavers was a transformer assembler for Pemco. He was a lifelong resident of the Bandy area and was a member of the Whitaker Ridge Assembly of God Church. He was one of the original founders and trustee of El Bethel Church in Baptist Valley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Beavers and Donald Beavers.
He is survived by: His wife, Esther Marie Beavers; one daughter: Tina Beavers Turner and husband, Richard of Roanoke, Virginia; two sons: Daniel Walter Beavers and wife, Diane of Tazewell, Virginia, Shawn Matthew Beavers and wife, Neyia of Cedar Bluff, Virginia; two sisters: Edith Dorothy Hess and husband, Phillip of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Helen Brown of Cedar Bluff, Virginia; one brother: James Avery Beavers and wife, Betty of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Benjamin, Lauren, Cory, Cole, Andrew, Andrea, Lincoln, and Jordyn. A host of family and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Walter Clavery Beavers will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel with Pastor Marilyn Morris officiating. Interment will be Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Whitaker Ridge Family Cemetery, near Bandy, Virginia. Grandsons, nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The Beavers family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, 1401 Second Street, Richlands, Virginia.
