GREEN VALLEY —
Myrtle Leona Williams, age 85, of Green Valley, West Virginia, formerly of Mohegan, WV, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013, at her residence. Born April 14, 1928, in Pomeroy, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lucinda Richard Williams.
She spent most of her life living in Mohegan before moving to Green Valley in 2006. Before her failing health, Myrtle loved sewing, making quilts and crafts, last helping her son Buck with his wood-working.
Preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her husband, Charlie V. Williams in 1978; one brother, George Williams; five sisters, Jenny Bledsoe, Ella Mae Blair, Stella Bishop, Edna Radford and Dollie Conti.
Survivors include one son, Charles "Bucky" Williams and wife Mary Green Williams of Green Valley; one granddaughter, Brianna Williams of Huntington; three special nieces, Helen Bishop, Judy Scott, Alice Newcomb; special friend, Sue McCall.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 1 P.M. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch with the Reverend Martha Boyd, officiating. Burial will follow at Iaeger Memorial Cemetery in Roderfield.
Friends may call Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home, from 12 Noon to 1 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Bishop, Johnny Bishop, Russell Bishop, Billy Bishop, Roy Newcomb and Dennis Mahaffey.
Fanning Funeral Home of Welch is serving the Williams family.
