ATHENS — James Elzie Cox, 73, of Oxley Hollow Road, Athens, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home.

Born December 2, 1939, at Cool Ridge.

James was a retired Truck driver for Hornady Transportation out of Montgomery, Alabama with 40 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan always following Dale Earnhardt Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, DeLila Sue May Cox; five children Donald Charles Sober and wife Shelby, Timothy Sober, Douglas Sober and wife Becky, James Cox and wife Kerri, James Sober; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; five siblings Shirley Mason, Barbara, Frances Rogers, Betty Shrewsbury, Dorothy.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 26, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton.

The family has honored his request, his body has been cremated.

The Cox family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
