BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Born February 10, 1930 in Jenkins, KY she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Turner and Lenora Mason Turner.
She was a former volunteer at the Fairmont General Hospital in Fairmont, WV and had been a resident of the Bluefield area since 2005 moving here from Fairmont. Hazel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Leon Ash; and three sisters, Olene Matter, Ruth Weaver, and Norma Whetzel.
Survivors include daughter, Rebecca Ash Little and husband Rex of Lansing, NC; son, Scott Ash and wife Brenda of Athens; daughter, Kelly “Marie” Erserver and husband Dr. Hakan Erserver of Banner Elk, NC; three grandchildren, Kevin Laxton, Clint Laxton, and Amanda Aliff; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hayden, Patrick, Emily, Aubrey, and Jackson; and one brother, Danny Turner of Danbury, CT.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by the service hour on Saturday. Friends may visit with the family immediately before and following the service.
