Daniel Ray Dodrill
PRINCETON — Daniel Ray Dodrill, 57, of Bluefield Avenue, Princeton, died early Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Princeton Community Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 10, 1955, in Princeton, he was the son of Charles M. Dodrill of Princeton and the late Opal Turner Dodrill.
Daniel was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1973, received his Bachelors Degree from Concord College in Athens, he then attended East Tennessee State University and received a Master's Degree from a University in Maryland.
Daniel was the former Director for the Commission on Aging in Princeton. He then moved to Washington, D.C. where he worked until his retirement with the Inspector General concerning the HUD programs.
He was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton.
Survivors in addition to his father, Charles, two children; Amy Dodrill and Brett Dodrill along with his sister, Teresa Heaton and husband Roger.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Jerry Martin officiating. The family has honored Daniel's request, his body has been cremated.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday from noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
