RICH CREEK, Va. — Born January 18, 1945 at Princeton, WV she was the daughter of the late Arnold Mason and Virginia Louise Crawford Hill.  She was a graduate of Athens High School.  Clara had worked for several years at the Princeton Memorial Hospital; she later worked 25 years for the Giles County School System until illness forced her into retirement.  

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Arvin Lee Hill.

 Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ronald D. Skeens; two sons, David Keith Skeens and wife Heather of Riner, VA and Timothy Lee Skeens and wife Alicia of Red House, WV; brother, Burton Hill and wife Phyllis of Gastonia, NC; sisters, Alliefair Ayers of Christiansburg, VA and Lexie Comer of Elgood, WV; two half brothers, Charles Hill and wife Linda and James Hill and wife Daphne all of Princeton, WV;  grandchildren, Austin David, Casey Marie and Justin Lee Skeens.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM, Noon, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church at Rich Creek, VA with Pastor Doug Hyndrich and Pastor Aubrey Whitlow officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek, VA.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the church, Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations of sympathy be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rich Creek, Building Fund – 108 Old Virginia Avenue, Rich Creek, VA 24147 or to the Riverview Nursing Home, Resident Fund, 120 Old Virginia Avenue, Rich Creek, VA 24147.
