Virgil Vern Walker Jr., age 69, of 21 Endicott Lane, Northfork, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, December 10, 2013, at his residence after a long illness. Born September 11, 1944 in Wyoming County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Virgil Vern Walker Sr. and Margaret Walker.
He was a member of the Northfork Baptist Church, Northfork, W.Va., he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served with the 101st Airborne. He was a former McDowell County Deputy and also a Private Investigator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a resident of McDowell County most of his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving and devoted wife, Verna L. Suiter Walker of the home; his brother, Wayne Walker and wife Joan of Georgia; his aunt, Mildred Browning of Michigan; his sister-in-law, Susan Brown of Northfork, W.Va.; two brothers-in-law, Dale Suiter of Glenwood, W.Va., Vernon "Butch" Suiter Jr. and wife Kim of Roanoke, Va.; two special nieces, Tammy Robinson and husband Larry of Northfork, W.Va., Angela Smith of Bluefield, W.Va.; a special great-nephew, Cameron, who helped with his care; his beloved Poodles, Jasper and Bella.; a host of nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Melvin and Paula Britt of Northfork, W.Va.
In honoring Mr. Walker's wishes, he will be cremated, there will be no services.
