George W. “Scooter” Clark, 61, of the Old Bluefield-Princeton Road, Princeton, died early Thursday morning, May 23, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born September 29, 1951, at Princeton, he was the son of the late Andrew L. “Andy” Clark Sr. & Theresa Caroline Brown Clark.
Scooter was a lifelong resident of Princeton, he was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and received an Associate Degree in Automotive Marketing from Northwood Institute.
Scooter was a member of Church of the Heavenly Rest in Princeton. He was an avid NASCAR fan always wanting a driver of a Ford to win. He loved to race go carts and was a friend to many animals.
Scooter was associated for many years with Andy Clark Ford holding various positions with the company; he also had been associated with McCann Motor in Tazewell, VA. Scooter was a former member of the Bluefield Sales Executive Club and a former Rotary member.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew L. “Drew” Clark Jr.
Survivors include his sister and her husband, Terry Alston & Rick Graham, and her children: Alston & Adam Sarver; Justin & Leslie Graham; and Megan Graham; Drew's children & wife’s; Jamie & Karen Clark, Steven Clark, Misty & Shawn Wagner, Heather & Scott Akers. Sister in law, Colleen Clark Cox. His two 4-legged friends, Houdini & GG his cats.
The family has honored Scooter's request, his services will be kept simple, a graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton with Father Bill Armstrong officiating.
Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton Sunday afternoon by 1:45 p.m. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts made to the Mercer County Humane Society, 961 Shelter Road, Princeton WV 24740.
