Bobby Wayne Dalton

KIMBALL — Bobby Wayne Dalton, age 65, of Kimball, W.Va. (Carswell Hollow Road) went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Welch Community Hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 23, 1947 in Bottom Creek, W.Va. he was the son of the late Ernest "Jigger" Dalton and Bessie Vivian Farley Dalton. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church, Vivian, W.Va., he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era, he was a retired coal miner from Amigo Smokeless Coal Co. and the United Pocahontas Coal Co. in Algoma, W.Va. and last was employed at the Welch Community Hospital in the Maintance Department. He loved the Lord and was blessed tremendously. He loved his family and grandchildren, he loved to fish and camp, and he helped anyone

who needed help. He loved old cars and being a mechanic and was a resident of Carswell for 40 years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy "Bo" Dalton on Oct. 4, 2006 and Larry Dalton on Nov. 15, 2007; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Loudema Robinson Farley; and his paternal grandparents, Whitt; Dalton and Laura Nester Dalton.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, the Rev Martha "Cookie" Lane Dalton of the home; two daughters, Karen Staats and husband, Doug "Jersey" Staats of West Liberty, Ohio and Kristy Dalton of Princeton, W.Va.; three grandaughters, Amber and Dalton Russ of Princeton, W.Va. and Sadie Staats of West Liberty, Ohio; three sisters, Barbara Hendy and husband, Mike of Milton, Vermont, Carolyn Sue Gillespie and companion, Billy Ratliff of Vivian, W.Va. and Patricia Tilley and husband, Bobby of Vivian, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Linda (Larry) Moore Dalton of Gary, W.Va.; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. with the Rev. Ronald Felts officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell, W.Va. where military graveside services will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Council and the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard. Friends may call Tuesday night from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, W.Va. Serving as Pallbearers will be Percy Lambert, David Eldridge, Doug Gillespie, Jimmy Curry, Frankie Dillon, and Rocky Addair. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Matthews, Doug Staats, Russell Justice, and Jim Widener.
