Pearlie Mae Riley

BLUEFIELD — Pearlie Mae Riley, 77, of Mintwood Road, Bluefield, WV, died Tuesday July 10, 2012 at a Bluefield hospital. Born Feb. 1, 1935 in Tip Top, Va., she was a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Carter and Nannie Hoops Carter. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reese Riley, who passed away on July 4; daughter, Janet Green; son, Thomas Neal; two great-grandchildren, Joey Dailey and Shannon Riley; brother, Donald Carter; and sister, Betty Hancock.

Survivors include two sons, Reese Riley Jr. and wife, Paula, of Bluefield, W.Va., and John Riley and wife, Melissa, of Princeton, W.Va.; and three daughters, Marie Boerboom and husband, Henry, Mary Dillow, and Donna Lawson and husband, Randy, all of Bluefield; one brother, Robert Carter and wife, Rose, of Maryland; four sisters, Lolla Massey, Margaret Liphart, Mary Huff and husband, George, and Arliss Mcally, all of Maryland; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A joint funeral service, celebrating the life of Mr. and Mrs. Riley, will be held on Saturday July 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Kinder officiating.  

Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery where Dave Marchant, Malcolm Dillow, Alex Riley, Thomas Dillard, Mark Taylor and Keith Meadows will serve as pallbearers.
