Margaret “Peggy” Osborn Foster
PRINCETON — Margaret “Peggy” Osborn Foster, 90 of GlenWood Park Retirement Village, Princeton, W.Va., and formerly of Three Springs Farm, Bluefield, W.Va., died Wednesday April 17, 2013.
Born March 18, 1923 in Welch, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Eliphalet Osborn and Lillian Jones Osborn. Mrs. Foster was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Bluefield where she was active in the Altar Guild. She was a graduate of Northwestern University and had attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh, N.C. She was a member of the ESP Investment Club and the Bluefield Garden Club. Mrs. Foster loved to play bridge and golf, and she also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James L. Foster; and her daughter, Elizabeth Foster Carter.
Survivors include one son, Lewis A. Foster of Pulaski, Tenn.; one daughter, Margaret Foster Thompson and husband Charles of Columbia, Md.; two grandchildren, Joseph L. Thompson of Charlotte, N.C. and Catherine A. Thompson of College Park, Md.,; and brother-in-law, Julian M. Foster and wife Sonjia of Indialantic, Fla.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 200 Duhring Street, Bluefield, WV 24701. A reception will be held immediately following the service at David’s at the Club, 1501 Whitethorn Street, Bluefield, WV 24701.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Endowment Fund, Christ Episcopal Church, Bluefield, W.Va.
