Pearlie Lester Estep, 87, of Flat Top, W.Va., formerly of the Bradshaw area, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, W.Va.
Pearlie was born March 5, 1925, in Panther, W.Va., a daughter of the late Luther and Bessie Kennedy Lester. She was a homemaker and the family matriarch, who was loving, giving, and sharing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus at Princeton, W.Va. She loved reading the bible and attending church. She also loved flowers and animals especially dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Estep; two sons, Ralph and Kenneth Estep; a daughter, Faye Estep; a sister, Sitha Stacy; and a brother, Homer Lester.
Survivors include three daughters, Thelma Blevins of Davy, W.Va., Mabel Scammell of Beckley, W.Va., and Kathy Estep Wamsley of Lebanon, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Easter Estep of Flat Top, W.Va.; eight, grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11 o clock, with the Reverend Kathleen Stanley officiating at the Berwind Revival Center in Berwind, W.Va. Burial will follow in the Preston Mullins Cemetery on Estep Ridge near Paynesville, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be David Estep, Butch Wamsley, Ralph Estep and Jim Estep.
Friends may visit with the family at the Berwind Revival Center in Berwind, W.Va., after 3 p.m. Sunday evening, November 11, 2012, where a Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
