PRINCETON — Josh Edward Mitchell, 80, of Princeton, formerly of Bartley passed away, Wednesday, March 5, 2013 at his home.
Born April 27, 1933 in Lex, W.Va. he was the son of the late, Elbert Mitchell and Nancy Belle Jewell Mitchell. He was a US Army veteran, and was a disabled miner. He attended the True House of God in English.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hubert, Roby, Kenneth and Jesse Mitchell; and two sisters, Pinkie Mitchell Day and Sadie Mitchell Day Kennedy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and caregiver, Elizabeth Mitchell of the home; three daughters, Pam Randolph and husband, Donald, Carrie Hughes and husband, Jason, and Nicole Hicks and husband, Arthur, all of Princeton; two sons, Keith Mitchell and wife, Miranda and Jason Mitchel,l all of Maiden, N.C.; grandchildren, Mitchell, Mackenzi, and Micah Hughes, Michelle Mitchell, Robbie Dawson, and Kyle and Cameron Mitchell; step grandchildren, Donald Randolph and Christine Burgess; great-granddaughter, Kayla Dawson; three brothers, Doug Mitchell and wife, Betty and Gilbert Mitchell and wife, Barbara, all of Troutman, N.C., and Leon Mitchell and wife, Debbie of Jolo; three sisters, Christine Day and husband, Hursty of Jolo, Frances Tucker and husband, Don of Longview, Texas, and Sandy Kelley of Bluff City, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. at the Jesus Church of Bartley with the Revs. Roger Woods and Matthew Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell-Jewell Cemetery on Bradshaw Mt.
Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
