POUNDING MILL, Va. — POUNDING MILL, Va. — Virginia Mae “Ginger” Martin Richardson Street, age 69, of Pounding Mill, Va., passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Va. She was born in Richlands, Va. and was the daughter of the late, Ovie Lee and Faye Ella Smith Martin. Ginger was a class of 1963 graduate of Richlands High School. She was an employee of the Tazewell County Public School System for 36 years, working in the library of the Richlands Elementary School and Richlands High School. She was a member of the Belfast Full Gospel Fellowship Church and was a lifelong resident of the area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Garnett “Pete” Richardson.  

She is survived by her husband, Royce Street; two daughters, Jammie Richardson Lester and husband, Michael “Bo” of Belfast, Virginia and Jeannie Richardson Sparks and husband, Ronnie of Cedar Bluff, Va.; one step-son, Brian Royce Street of Lebanon, Va.; two sisters, Josephine Russ Wright and husband, Clarence of Cedar Bluff, Va. and Phyllis Messick and husband, William of Pounding Mill, Va.; three brothers, James William Martin and wife, Gwendolyn of Ormond Beach, Fla., John Ovie Martin of Ormond Beach, Fla. and Sherman Eugene Martin and wife, Connie of Richlands, Va.; seven sisters-in-law, Lois Hale and husband, Arlin, Hildred Meadows and husband, Arthur, Mildred Clark and husband, Jim, June Baker, Glenda Kay Absher and husband, J.R., Jacqueline Denise Patton and husband, Barry and Jacqueline McGray Richardson; two brothers-in-law, Roger Street and wife, Tammy and Jack Keith Richardson and wife, Marsha; deveral nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Virginia Mae “Ginger” Martin Richardson Street will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Va. with Pastor Bob Smith, the Rev. Danny Altizer, and the Rev. Rick Blevins officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Curtis Whitaker, Tim Meadows, Taylor Meadows, Jack Richardson, Bruce Russell and Rocky Smith. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home; 1401 Second Street; Richlands, Va.
