CLINTWOOD, Va. —
CLINTWOOD, Va. — Walter J. Carty, Jr., 87, of Clintwood, Va., formerly of Princeton, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Clintwood, Va. Born December 1, 1925 at Pocahontas, Va., he was the son of the late, Walter J. Carty and Maude Cox Carty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Akers Carty; three brothers, Paul Carty, Clarence Carty and Buster Carty; and two sisters, Margie May and Beulah Russell.
Mr. Carty worked at Robinson's Terminal until his retirement as a machine operator. He was a lifelong resident of Princeton.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Stone and her husband, Paul of Clintwood, Va.; two sons, Donald Carty and his wife, Patricia of Fredericksburg, Va. and Walter D. Carty of Lynchburg, Va.; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery. Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
