PRINCETON — Frances E. Pettrey, 87, of Short Street, Princeton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday evening, January 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 31, 1926, at Oakvale, she was the daughter of the late C. F. Long and Dora Mullins Long.

Frances was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road near Princeton. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Basil Pettrey Sr. along with three children: Larry K. Pettrey, Mary Elizabeth Pettrey and Della Dale. In addition to five siblings: Leroy, Margaret, Janie, Edward and Vera.

Those left to cherish her memory, her 9 children: Fred B. Pettrey Jr. of High Point, NC, Jerry W. Pettrey, Marvin R. Pettrey and wife Lois, Margaret Akers, Clarence Robert Pettrey, Bonnie Fleming and husband Rick, Vivian Perry and husband Burton, Rosemary Harry and husband Marvin, Debbie Fleeman and husband Chuck all of Princeton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Betty Parker, Billy, Leonard, James and Franklin Long all of Princeton. Very special friend, Jeanie King, who was like a daughter to her, Richard and Brenda Wimmer, Rick Akers and her extended family at Johnston Chapel Church.

Graveside services will be held Friday (today), January 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pettrey Family Cemetery, Hackett's Ridge, at Petry with Pastor Dr. John King speaking.  

Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton Friday (today) by 1:15 P.M.
