• Daisy Mae Baker, of Rockridge, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at Buchanan General Hospital. Arrangements by Fanning Funeral Home, Iaeger.
• Larry Lee Radford, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Red Jacket, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus following a long illness. Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert is in charge of arrangements.
• Anita Marie Ratliff, of Montcalm, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
• Mr. Charles Anthony Turpin, 23, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va. Arrangements are incomplete at the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
• Aja Renae Walker, 23, of Princeton, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at McConnell Funeral Home in Bluefield.

Jeffrey Allen Arnold
PARKERSBURG — Jeffrey Allen Arnold, 54, of Parkers-burg, died Jan. 20, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Jeff was born in Welch, on July 22, 1952, son of Margaret Ann Mulkey Arnold and the late Malcolm (Mack) Clinton Arnold. He was raised in Ravenswood, and graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1970.
Jeff was passionate about his WVU Mountaineers, his Harley Davidson and boating with friends along the Ohio and Little Kanawha Rivers. He was proud to celebrate Parkersburg Financial Center's 30th anniversary of being in business this year. The firm started as an accounting firm with Jeff fresh out of college preparing tax returns from home. The firm has now grown to be one of the largest, most successful accounting and investment advisory firms in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Jeff believed strongly in giving back to the community and was proud to serve his community over the years. Jeff served on the Board of Directors as treasurer for the Parkersburg Art Center and served as a Board of Director Liaison for the March of Dimes. Jeff was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley, a Mason and a member of the Parkersburg Masonic Lodge, the Rotary Club of Parkersburg, the WVU Alumni Association, and he was past president of The West Virginia Accounting Association. Jeff was invited by the Mayor of Parkersburg to join the committee to re-write the Parkersburg City Charter, which he proudly accepted.
Jeff loved his wife dearly and was extremely proud of his children and stepchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Malcolm C. Arnold of Ravenswood; brother, David C. Arnold of Kokomo, Ind.; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Rena Mulkey of Tazewell, Va.; and paternal grandparents, Henry and Grace Arnold of Capels, W.Va.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lois Lynn Arnold; daughters, Nicki Foggin and husband, David and grandchildren, Bobby and Jacqui of Belleville, W.Va., Melissa Dailey and husband, Chad, and granddaughter, Reganne of Lubeck, and Kelli Beth Cross and husband, Rob, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; son, Jeffrey Scott Arnold and wife, Janet, of Parkersburg; stepchildren, Jane Wilson of Parkersburg, Jeff Wilson and wife, Jenny, of Roswell, N.M., and Jenny Wilson and boyfriend, Dan Beall, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brothers, James (Jim) Wesley Arnold and partner, Mary Ann Mayo, of North Augusta, S.C., and Ralph Henry (Hank) Arnold and wife, Joni, and children, Tyler and Bethany, of Marietta; aunt, Ruth Ellen Ingraham and husband, Bob, of Raleigh, N.C.; and uncle, John Herbert Mulkey and wife, Freda, and their children of Bluefield, W.Va.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Pastor Ed Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday (today) and from 11 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Parkersburg Art Center in honor of Jeff.
Alease Roland Cheese
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Alease Roland Cheese, 97, of Columbus, formerly of Bluefield, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 in Columbus surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Bluefield.
Predeceased by husband, Oscar Cheese Sr.; parents, Sidney and Roxanna Roland; brother, John Roland; and sister, Beatrice Wilson.
Survived by loving and devoted son, Oscar Cheese Jr. of Columbus; sister, Georgia Munroe of Ambler, Pa.; grandson, Christopher (Heidi) Cheese of Columbus; one great grandchild (Olivia); special cousins, Barbara Watkins, Grace Euell and Dr. Bernard Woodson; special friends, June Washington, Frances and George Rembert, Phyllius Meadows and Brenda Melvin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 205 Logan Street, Bluefield. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon. The Rev. Charles H. Collins Sr. will officiate and the Rev. Adrian Dowell will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Bluewell.

T.F. Fisher
PRINCETON — T. F. Fisher, 79, of 14 Murdock Street, Princeton, formerly of 2301 Wythe Ave., Bluefield, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. Mr. Fisher had been staying at the home of his daughter in Hurricane until he moved to the Hubbard Hospice House.
Born Oct. 4, 1927 in Bluefield, he was the son of the late William Fisher and Betsy Fisher. Mr. Fisher was a Car Inspector for N&W Railway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn M. Fisher.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Fisher of the home; one son, Michael Fisher of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; six stepchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield with Martin Hnizdil and Scott Hanks officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on today, Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Eli Jones Sr.
TAZEWELL, Va. — Mrs. Eli (Margaret Trula) Jones Sr., 92, of Tazewell, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 in a Tazewell hospital following a brief illness.
She was born at Tazewell County, Va., and was the daughter of the late James and Una Mays Howery.
She had made her home in Tazewell her entire life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, being extremely devoted to her family. She was a mother to many and a friend to all. She was a life long member of the Historic Crab Orchard Museum and was the oldest member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and had been very active in the WCTU, Adult Bible Class and a Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Eli Bailey Jones Sr., son, Sam Jones, two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include: sons: James J. Jones and wife Charlotte of Margate, Fla., Eli Jones Jr. and wife Lena Jo of Tazewell and Larry G. Jones and wife Susan of Draper, Va.; daughter-in-law: Eunice Lester and husband Ward of Tazewell; sisters: Mays Ball of Bluefield, Va., Lillian Musick of North Tazewell, Va., Myrtle Howery of Tazewell and Janice Witt of Tazewell; grandchildren: Maggie McCormick and husband Greg of Dobson, N.C., Dr. Patricia Cook and husband Les of Ashland, Va., James Jones Jr. and wife Kelli of Ashland, Va., Dr. Jennifer Jones of Blacksburg, Va., Joseph Jones and wife Jennifer of Los Angeles, Calif., Jacob Jones of Draper, Va. and Brooke Boggs and husband Cody of Grey, Tenn.; seven great grandchildren. Senior companion: Elsie Lambert, caregiver: Muriel Vanover, and special friend: Linda J. Akers also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel of Tazewell, Va. with the Rev. James Denton officiating. Interment will follow at Maxwell Cemetery, Maxwell, Va. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rufus Akers, Jay Lockhart, Bobby Witten, LeRoy Vanover and Clyde Witt.

Mae Bell Leak
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Mae Bell Leak was born on May 20, 1918 in Anderson County, S.C. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Jones and Etoi Austin Boyd. The family moved to Welch prior to her starting elementary school. She graduated from Kimball High School and later received a Diploma from Lady Alyce Beauty School in Knoxville, Tenn. She was a member of the Kimball High School Alumni Association McDowell County Chapter. She enjoyed traveling to the reunions until her health failed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two previous husbands; one brother, James Spear; one sister, Dorothy Walker; and one grandson, John E. Thomas Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Sylvene J. Thomas of Keystone, Irelean Woodruff and Monnetta Staples of Philadelphia. She also leaves to mourn her passing, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 at the Aruro J. Wilson Funeral Home, 413 Fairmont St., Philadelphia, PA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the service following at 11:00 a.m.

Reverend Clarence P. Mullins
KEYSVILLE, Va. — Reverend Clarence P. Mullins, 99, of Keysville, Union Grove Road, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Southside Community Hospital.
Reverend Mullins was born on Dec. 15, 1907, in Bigness Branch, Pike County, Ky. He was the son of the late William Preston and Ida Gillispie Mullins. He was a retired coal miner, retired Southern Baptist Minister, and retired from VCU.
He is survived by his sons, Buddy M. Mullins of Flat Woods, Ky., Phillip D. Mullins of Powhatan, Va.; a daughter, Nancy M. Rice of Keysville; two brothers, Eugene of Virgie, Ky., and Howard of Glasgow, Ky.; four grandsons, four granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, and seven great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Thacker Mullins; two sons, Clarence Jr. and Paul Lee; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 in the Chapel at the Browning Funeral Home in Keysville, followed by a graveside service at 4:30 p.m. in the Powhatan Community Cemetery in Powhatan, Va.
The family will receive friends and family at the Browning Funeral Home on today, Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007 from 7 to 8 p.m.
The Browning Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements.
Joe G. Terry
INGLESIDE — Joe G. Terry, 84, of Terry Hollow Road, Ingleside, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 at his residence.
Born July 3, 1922 in Ingleside, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Maggie Faye Hudson Terry. He was a retired custodian with the Mercer County Board of Education retiring from Oakvale School in 1985. He was of the Protestant faith, a life-long resident of the Ingleside area, a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Joe was a master gardener taking pride in his ability to raise flowers and vegetables to sell at the Farmer's Market in Princeton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby “Margaret” Skeens Terry on Oct. 3, 1978; two sisters, Aileen Sprinkle and Martha Fitzwater; three brothers, Woodrow Terry, Charlie Terry and George “Phil” Terry; and a half brother, Mack Hudson.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Joe Terry, Jimmy Terry, and Bobby Wayne Terry all of Princeton; five daughters, Rita Terry of the home, Peggy Terry of Kentucky, Holly Roark of Princeton, Candy Terry of Oakvale and April Terry of Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Delmar Stilwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Brown Cemetery in Hardy with the WV National Guard Honor Team conducting military graveside rites. At Joe's request, his daughters will serve as pallbearers along with Mark Roark, Alvin Dale Shrewsbury, Jimmie Martin, James Roark, Carl Dickerson and Larry Rice.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today.
