Memorabilia is being sought from schools no longer in existence which have competed in past state boys basketball tournaments.
The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission is celebrating the 100th state Boys Basketball Tournament during the event in March at the Charleston Civic Center-Coliseum. A banquet on March 12 at the Civic Center will kick off the activities with the tournament running March 13-16.
“We are seeking memorabilia from all schools who have participated in past tournaments,” Ray Londeree said, “but are hopeful we can include materials from schools who have been consolidated into current schools or are no longer in existence.”
Londeree is assistant director of the WVSSAC and event committee member in charge of the memorabilia displays during the tournament.
Memorabilia would include trophies, plaques, balls, school uniforms, jerseys, pennants, programs, photos, etc.
Londeree can be contacted at the WVSSAC office in Parkersburg or by calling 304-485-5494.
