PIPESTEM — Zayne Worley led three players in double figures with 18 points in the Pipestem Christian Academy New Year’s Invitational.

Austin Peyton added 16 points and Aleks Lane had 15. Trevor Shorter scored six points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Victory Baptist was paced by Nathan Richmond with 12 points and 11 by Aric Wright.

Pipestem Christian will play Ballard Christian for the varsity title tonight at 7:30 p.m. Pipestem Christian’s middle school team will play Victory for that crown at 6.

PIPESTEM — Josh Deskins scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Ballard Christian past Mountain State in the Pipestem Invitational.

Gage Bowles (14), Dalton Lankford (13), Ray Spencer (11) and Chris Prunesti (10) reached double figures for Ballard Christian. Deskins and Lankford each had three 3s.

Austin Cude tossed in 26 for Mountain State.

Ballard Christian (5-3) will play Pipestem Christian tonight at 7:30 p.m.

NEW RICHMOND — The James Monroe Lady Mavericks improved to 6-2 with a 68-50 win Thursday night at Wyoming East.

Kelsie Mann led the Lady Mavs and all scorers with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Laine Shiflet added 14 with six steals. Emily McKinney had 1 points and Jordan Page 10.

Bre Pertee topped the Wyoming East scoring column with 14 and Chiara Jewell added 12.

James Monroe hosts River View on Saturday, while Wyoming East hosts River View on Monday.
