Prep girls hoops wrap up

WYTHEVILLE, Va. — The P. Coe Shootout continued Thursday at George Wythe High School and the Graham G-Girls defeated the Rural Retreat Indians 37-23.

Liz Workman topped the Graham scoring column with eight points.

Graham captured the JB contest 36-23.

WYTHEVILLE, Va. — Game 11 of the Shootout saw the Chilhowie Lady Warriors slip past the Tazewell Lady Bulldogs 68-64.

Paula Catron led Chilhowie and all scorers with 26 points.

Taylor Catron paced Tazewell with 18, Haley Christian added 14 and Kaley Holloway contributed 11.

Tazewell made seven threes in the game, led by Christian with four and Catron with three.

Chilhowie won the JV game 50-9.

WYTHEVILLE, Va. — Host George Wythe defeated Bland County in the final game of the P. Coe Shootout, Thursday night at George Wythe High School.

Kristen Atwell led George Wythe with 19 points, while Amber Eaton took scoring honors for Bland County with 12.

George Wythe held Bland County scoreless in the final quarter to gain the victory.

Summers County 76, Wyoming East 48

The Summers County Lady Bobcats improved to 5-1 on the season with a 76-48 win over Wyoming East, Thursday night.

Avery Pivont led the Lady Cats with 19 points and Tyra Wynes and Brandi Morrison added 12 apiece.

Bre Pertee was Wyoming East’s top scorer with 14 points and Chelsea Duncan added 11.

Summers County returns to action Dec. 29th against Charleston Catholic in Charleston.
