Rebels trap Bears, Green Wave falls to Indians

ROCKY GAP, Va. — Amber Eaton scored 11 and Kristen Dillow added 10 points but it was not quite enough as the Bland County Lady Bears fell to the Patrick Henry-Glade Spring Rebels 49-39, Wednesday night.

Bland County held the lead in the third quarter until the visitors connected on four three-point baskets to take the lead.

Jade Miller led Patrick Henry with a game-high 22 points.

The Lady Bears return to the court Monday night at Eastern Montgomery.

NARROWS, Va. — Rural Retreat used a late charge and claimed a win at Narrows.

The Lady Green Wave was led by Tiffany Perdue with 18 and Shelby Baker with 12. Rural Retreat’s Ashton Willard had a game-high 19.

Narrows returns to the court tonight hosting county rival Giles.

LINDSIDE — Kelsey Mosely scored 15 points to lead the Spartans to a season-opening win over the Mavericks on Tuesday night.

Emily Santolla added nine points for Giles, while Emily Harless added eight.

Giles (1-0) will visit Narrows tonight.

James Monroe (0-1), which was led by Lane Shiflet with at least 20 points, will visit Wyoming East on Friday.
