BRISTOL, Va. —
The Princeton Rays scored three times in the eighth and four runs in the ninth and held off the Bristol White Sox for a 9-7 win Wednesday night. The win snapped Princeton’s two game losing streak.
Princeton banged out 14 hits in the contest as Bralin Jackson, Yoel Araujo, Hunter Lockwood, Armando Araiza, David Garcia and Johnny Eierman each had a pair of hits. One of Garcia’s was a home run, his fourth of the season, a two-run shot in the eighth inning.
Mario Fernandez pitched three innings to pick up his first win of the season for the Rays and Oscar Armenta earned the save.
Game two of the series is tonight in Bristol, first pitch is set for 7 o’clock.
