Spencer Edwards had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in all four Princeton runs, leading the Rays to a 4-2 Appalachian League victory over Bristol on Thursday night in front of 889 spectators at Hunnicutt Field.
In a matchup of the two last teams in the league, the Rays out-hit the White Sox 8-6, scoring two runs in the third and fifth innings.
Emmanuel Paulino added two hits and two runs scored, and Coty Blanchard also crossed the plate twice for Princeton.
German Marquez picked up the win, allowing four hits and one run in five innings on the mound. Oscar Armenta worked three innings, and Luis Cabrera pitched the ninth to get the save.
Nolan Early led Bristol with a solo home run in the second inning. Toby Thomas tripled and brought home the White Sox’s other run in the sixth.
Thaddius Lowry took the loss for Bristol.
Princeton (20-40) will host Bristol (16-41) again tonight at 7:05 p.m.
