Two Concordians earn weekly honors

ATHENS — Concord’s Becca Gleason has been named the WVIAC softball player of the week. The senior hit .480, scored 11 runs, drove in four runs and stole four bases last week at the National Collegiate Softball Invitational, where CU went 6-2. She belted a school record three triples in one game against Cairn.

Jarrod Groves led Concord to a perfect 5-0 week to earn baseball player of the week honors. He hit .571 (8-for-14) with eight runs scored and nine RBI. He also stole two bases and hit two doubles while producing an on-base percentage of .647 and slugging .714.
