Burrows new BC O-Line coach

BLUEFIELD — Jeremy Burrows has been named Offensive Line Coach by Bluefield College head football coach Ordell Walker. Burrows replaces Joe Perri, who left to pursue other opportunities.

Burrows will also serve as a strength coach for the Rams.

Burrows, a native of Salem, Ore., played three varsity seasons under Walker at Greenville College in Illinois. He also spent four years working under Aaron Mingo, who is now the offensive coordinator at Bluefield.

A three-year starter at left tackle at Greenville, Burrows helped the Panthers to a 29-12 over a four-year period.

Burrows earned three Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) All-Conference selections as an offensive lineman, including first team nods as a junior and senior. During his senior campaign in 2012, Burrows helped clear the way for an offense that finished first in the UMAC and fifth at the NCAA Division III level in rushing at 314 yards per game. The offensive line also ranked first in the UMAC and 15th in the NCAA in sacks allowed, with just seven for the year.

His junior season with the O-Line was equally impressive as the offense finished third in the NCAA in yards per game (342).

The Rams’ season will officially kick off on Aug. 31, when they travel to Valley, Ala., for a noon meeting with Point University. However, Bluefield will host a preseason scrimmage against Emory & Henry on Friday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m.
