BECKLEY — Three of the four schools in the Class AA-A state soccer tournament slated for next weekend are the same on the boys and girls side.

The only difference are the two local teams qualified for the state semifinals next Friday at the YMCA Carter Family Foundation Stadium in Beckley.

The winners will meet for the championship on Saturday at 11 a.m.

PikeView’s girls soccer team reached the state tournament for a third time in the last four seasons with a 3-2 win over Pocahontas County in the Region 3 championship last Thursday.

PikeView (16-4-2) will play Fairmont Senior (14-8-1) on Friday 30 minutes after the opening game between Charleston Catholic (15-5-2) and Bridgeport (17-4-1) in the girls opener at 4:30 p.m.
