Narrows stays perfect

NARROWS, Va. — The boys from Narrows remained hot on a cold night Tuesday.

The Green Wave kept its record perfect by defeating the Craig County Rockets 69-38. Narrows (3-0) held their visitors to nine points or less through the first three quarters, and took a 39-17 lead into halftime.

Rodney Perdue led Narrows with seven rebounds and 24 points, connecting on three 3-pointers. Chandler Burton and Brandon Spangler chipped in 17 and 12 points respectively.

Trevor Edwards hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Rockets. Brandon Fisher added 12.

The boys return to action in the Narrows Athletic Fund Christmas Tournament on Friday, with proceeds going to assist all sports at Narrows High. Giles plays Roanoke Catholic at 6 p.m. with Narrows hosting James Monroe at 7:30.

The championship round of games for both boys and girls will take place in Narrows on Dec. 21 this year, because the Giles football team is in its state championship game this Saturday.
