Justin Mariotti and Aaron Miller made it official on Monday where they were going to attend college.
The two Bluefield High School seniors signed their letters of intent with Bluefield State College to play golf. A ceremony was held at the school’s media center during the school day.
Kim Miller, the athletic director for Bluefield High School, was very pleased to see two students she has been around for years excel at this level.
Miller stated, “It’s very satisfying and gratifying to know these students will be able to compete at the next level.”
Aaron Miller, is also the son of Kim Miller, so from a motherly standpoint, she couldn’t be more pleased, especially because his collegiate choice is so close to home.
When asked about the feelings the two student-athletes were experiencing about this opportunity, both were very grateful.
Mariotti said, “It’s a blessing to be able to get your college education paid for while playing collegiate athletics.”
Aaron Miller was also ecstatic, saying, “It’s a dream come true to be able to play golf at the collegiate level. To go to college and play a sport I’ve been playing my whole life is just amazing.”
