Wyoming East hammers Bobcats

BECKLEY — Brett Bowling scored 16 points and Josh Tunstalle added 14, and Wyoming East hammered Summers County 71-46 in the Class AA, Region 3, Section 1 semifinals on Tuesday night at the Raleigh County Convention Center.

Wyoming East (16-7), ranked fifth in the Class AA, will face Westside in the regional title game on Thursday. Westside ripped Independence 91-47 in the other semifinal.

The Warriors, who also received 13 points from Cody Lester, took an 18-4 halftime lead, and will now face the Renegades. Those two Wyoming County rivals have split two games this season.

Summers County (12-10) was paced by Ta’Ron Ayers with 13 points and 12 from T.J. Smith.
