G-Girls glide by Grayson County

INDEPENDENCE, Va. — The Graham G-Girls secured second place in the Mountain Empire District with a 51-36 win over the Grayson County Blue Devils, Friday night.

Emaleigh Gallinger led the G-Girls in scoring with 12 points and Taylor Williams followed with 11. Meredith Frost and Cameron McGrady scored nine apiece to lead Grayson County.

The G-Girls finished the regular season 13-9 overall and 7-3 in the MED. They will play in the district tournament, Wednesday at Fort Chiswell. against an opponent to be determined. The G-Girls have a first round bye.

COAL CITY — The River View Lady Raiders won their third straight game and the fifth in their last six outings as they downed the Lady Patriots of Independence.

Chelsea Dobbs led the way with 23 points, 16 rebounds and five steals for River View and Phyllis Waldron pulled down 11 boards.

HINTON — Avery Pivont scored 23 points to lead the Summers County Lady Bobcats (13-5) past the PikeView Lady Panthers.

Hope Nester had 21 for PikeView (8-10). Nester passed the 1,000-point mark on her career.

Summers County celebrates Senior Night this evening when they host Charleston Catholic in a 7:30 tip.

LINDSIDE — Carter Shiflet scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Mavericks past the Warriors.

Kelsie Mann added 14 points and 12 boards, while Jordan Page scored six points and dished out eight assists.

Bre Pertee scored 20 points for Wyoming East, while Hannah Ford added 10.

James Monroe will visit River View tonight as part of a girls-boys doubleheader starting at 5 p.m.
