BC Rams returning to NCCAA World Series this week

BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Bluefield College baseball team will make its return to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series this week at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio.

The Rams accepted an at-large bid over the weekend and are the No. 5 seed in the tournament. Bluefield is paired in Pool A with Oklahoma Christian University, Fresno Pacific University, Trinity Christian College and Shorter University.

The Rams open with a pair of games on Wednesday, beginning with the first game of the day at Legacy Field — a 10 a.m. matchup against Fresno Pacific. Bluefield then plays in the nightcap at Prasco Park, taking on Oklahoma Christian at 8 p.m.

Pool play continues with a single game against Trinity Christian on Thursday, beginning at 10 a.m. at Legacy Field. Bluefield concludes pool play against Shorter at 2 p.m. at Prasco Park.

The top two teams from each pool will then match up in semi-final games on Friday evening, slated for 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Rams last appeared in the National Tournament in 2012, going 1-3 in pool play. Bluefield won the NCCAA national title in 2009 and was runner-up in 2010.
