Panthers rip Mavericks in diamond action

GARDNER — Levi Nash threw a two-hitter and Austin Cordell drove in four runs as the PikeView Panthers romped past James Monroe 12-1 in a game that ended in the fifth inning on Tuesday night on the PikeView field.

Cordell was 2 for 2 at bat with a home run. Jordan Hardin was also 2 for 2 with an inside-the-park home run and two RBI for PikeView (14-6). Both Hunter Moses and John Clark batted 2 for 3.

Reed McNeer got both of James Monroe’s hits and scored the Mavericks’ run.

The Panthers will host River View on Thursday on Senior Night. James Monroe is scheduled to play a doubleheader today at Greenbrier East.
