PikeView denies Independence

COAL CITY — Seth Wood scored a game-high 24 points and Zach Meadows added 22 and 19 rebounds to lead PikeView past Independence 81-57 on Wednesday night.

Jason Weitzel added 14 points and Tanner Farley had nine for the Panthers.

Aaron Hunt led the Patriots with 11 points and Adam Tolliver added eight.

PikeView plays tonight at James Monroe.

FORT CHISWELL, Va. — Freshman Dejah Carter scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds and Lexi Kiser added 17 to lead the Graham G-Girls to a Mountain Empire District win Wednesday night.

Savannah Dunford was high scorer for the Lady Pioneers with 19, Taylor Jones tallied 18 and Carly Musick 14.

Graham, 13-7, play at home Friday in a quad against Grayson County.

PRINCETON — The Princeton Tigerettes dropped a Mountain State Athletic Conference contest to the St. Albans Lady Red Dragons, Wednesday evening at the Ralph Ball Court.

Ashley Culicerto led the Tigerettes with 19 points. Culicerto and Kaleigh Barker each had six rebounds. Terri Wilson had 19 points for St. Albans.

Princeton returns to action Saturday at Woodrow Wilson.

GRUNDY — The Grundy Lady Golden Wave battled in the fourth quarter to force overtime, but fell in the extra period, dropping a decision to East Ridge, Ky., Wednesday evening.

Morgan Hall and Paige Owens both had double-doubles for the Lady Wave. Hall scored 25 points and had 13 rebounds while Owens scored 18 and had 10 boards.

Temera Thacker led East Ridge with 20 and Kelsi Fuller added 18.

Grundy hosts Honaker on Friday.
