Spencer Edwards, 20, 2012: 2nd round, (88th overall), HS Rockwall, Texas. ..Batted .453, 4 HR, 11 doubles, 5 triples, 17 stolen bases as HS senior...Received interest as a wide receiver and safety, but decided to concentrate on baseball...Very fast, clocked at 4.3 in the 40-yard dash at a football combine....High school teammate Steve Bean was picked in the first round in 2012 by the Cardinals...Had committed to play baseball at the University of Texas.

Travis Flores, 20, 2010: 11th round, HS, Mesa, Ariz. ...Hit a home run (and a single) for Princeton's only run in the season-opening loss to Danville...Did not play in 2011 or 2012, 2010: GCL, 6 games, 2-for-11; Powerful hitter, won Power Showcase home run derby while in high school, defeating Dante Bichette, Jr. in the finals, longest blast measured at 498 feet...Had been committed to Arizona State.

Hunter Lockwood, 20, 2013: 11th round, Weatherford College, Texas. 2013, .333, 7 home runs at Weatherford...Hit 11 home runs as a freshman at Oklahoma...Transferred from Oklahoma because of his desire to be a catcher...Selected in 2011 by the Los Angeles Angels in the 17th round.

Elias Torres, 21, 2011: Free agent, Santiago, D.R. 2012: DSL, .273, 3 HR, 24 RBI, 9 stolen bases.

Staff

Manager, Danny Sheaffer. First year manager with the Rays...A first round pick (20th overall) by Boston in 1981 from Clemson...Played for four teams in the major leagues, batting .232 with 13 home runs and 110 RBIs...Managed first in 2003 with the Memphis Redbirds...Served as catching coordinator in the Houston organization for three years.
