Three doubleheaders this week at Bowen

BLUEFIELD — Three straight days of doubleheaders are on tap at Bowen Field to make up for Appy League postponements due to weather last week.

On Wednesday at 5 p.m., the Bluefield Blue Jays and Burlington Royals will complete a game suspended at the end of the fourth inning with Bluefield ahead 1-0. Thursday start time is 5 p.m. and Friday’s double-dip starts at 4 p.m.

All games are seven innings except for Wednesday’s opener.

Giveaways are scheduled each day.

The first 300 fans through the gate on Wednesday will receive a free Bluefield Blue Jays t-shirt, courtesy of the Southern Coalfields Tobacco Prevention Coalition. The gates will open at 4 p.m.

On Thursday, gates will open at 4 p.m., and the first 400 fans will wear receive a Bluefield Blue Jays/Go Green rally towel courtesy of the City of Bluefield and the Town of Bluefield, Va. The Jays will also wear special “Go Green” jerseys during one of the games on Thursday.

For Friday’s twin bill, the first 250 fans through the gate will receive a free Bluefield Blue Jays logo baseball courtesy of KICKS Country. The doors will open at 3 p.m.
